CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - July 19, 1971
The regular Chanhassen Village Council Meeting on July 19, 1971,
in the Chanhassen Village Hall was opened with the Pledge to the
Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter,
Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. Councilman Bennyhoff was
absent.
COUNCIL MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by Councilman Neils to approve the July 12, 1971,
Council Minutes with the following amendment: Under LAKE ANN
PROJECT, the Mayor wants the Minutes to reflect that the reason
he voted no was that he felt that this was standard procedure.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carriåd.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman
Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Planning Commission
Minutes of July 13, 1971, be noted and read. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils
and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
SEWER TRUNK REPAIR: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the sewer trunk repair project
#7l-3A be paid for out of the Utility Operating Fund. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
POLICE REPORT: Sgt. Al Wallin was present and gave a detailed
report on the problems of Rose Lane.
A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by
Councilman Neils that a special meeting be held on Monday,
July 26,1971, at 8:10 p.m., in the Chanhassen Village Hall,
regarding the special problems of Rose Lane. All abutting
property owners to be notified. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes.. Motion carried.
CHANHASSEN ESTATES 2ND ADDITION: A motion was made by Councilman
Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Wolf to defer action on
the Chanhassen Estates 2nd Addition Final Plat until a later date.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
COMMERCIAL BUILDING PERMIT (TEXACO): This item is to be placed
on the Agenda of the August 2, 1971, meeting, at 8:15 p.m., with
complete data available and Robert Mason should also be present.
NORTH SERVICE AREA: A motion was made by Mayor Coulter and seconded
by Councilman Wolf that the Village Engineer contact the Metro-
politan Sewer Board and the Pollution Control Agency to request
preliminary approval on the sewer installation in the North Service
Area. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter,
Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
c~rried.

BILLS: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by
Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the bills as submitted.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Council-
men Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.

WARRANT: Councilman Klingelhutz moved the adoption of
the following Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that the
following bills be paid by a warrant:
GENERAL FUND: Schoell & Madson 71-5 Ck #2575 - 3,809.59
GENERAL FUND: Schoell & Madson 71-3 Ck #2576 - 2,335.90
GENERAL FUND: Fox & Weiler 71-3 Ck #2577 - 4,313.61
RESOLUTION SECONDED by Councilman Wolf. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilman Klingelhutz,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
1971 SPECIAL CENSUS: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Village Attorney be
authorized to take whatever steps necessary to initiate action
to begin the Special Census. The following voted in favor thereöf:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
PART-TIME EMPLOYEE SALARIES: A motion was made by Councilman
Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf that part-time employees I
be paid up to $2.50 per hour. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
ANNUAL AUDIT: Ray Hoffman presented the audit and explained the
various sections of the report. He will return to answer Council
questions at the August 2, 1971, meeting.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and
seconded by Mayor Coulter that Councilmen Klingelhutz and Wolf
be appointed to serve on the special Planning Committees named
Central Business District Committee and the Red Cedar Point and
Carver Beach Committee. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by
Councilman Wolf to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
