CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - February 28, 1972
The special Chanhassen Village Council Meeting on February 28,
1972, was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following
members were present: Mayor K1inge1hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by
Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the
Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of February 15, 1972,
be noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried~
HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION: A motion was made by Councilman Benny-
hoff and seconded by Councilman Neils that Rev. Norman Pavey and
Herb DeVaan be appointed to serve on the Human Rights Commission
for three year terms. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
Rev. Pavey stated that at the last Human Rights Commission Meeting
the Commission decided to recommend that the Council amend Ordinance
#39, Section 4, reducing the membership from 15 to 7.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to change Ordinance #39, Section 4, as recommended by the
Human Rights Commission. The Village Attorney to draft the
amendment and submit for final approval. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils, and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
NORTH SERVICE AREA: The Administrator explained the basic reasons
that the North Service Area had been reduced in size. Also how
the cost can be financed.
Financial Consultant, Phil Chenowith, explained in detail the
financing plan.
General discussion. No action taken.
POLICE REPORT: Sgt. Al Wallin was present to explain the Police
Report.
TRANSPORTATION STUDY: Planning Commission Chairman, John Neveaux,
gave a report on the Transportation Study. After general discussion
it appears that a public hearing will be necessary. The Village
Attorney will report on the necessity of a public hearing.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
K1ingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
