PUBLIC HEARING - SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE - August 14, 1972
The Public Hearing on the proposed Solid. Waste Ordinance was
called to order at 7:30, August 14, 1972, in the Chanhassen
Village Hall. The following members were present: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
The Administrator read the notice of the Public Hearing.
WARD PASSE stated that he was concerned about the idea of one
garbage collector with an end result of poor service with the
lack of competition.
Generally all persons present agreed with Mr. Passe.
There was general discussion on the proposed ordinance both by
the Council and by persons present.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.

CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - August 14, 1972
The special Chanhassen Village Council Meeting was called to order
at 9:05 p.m. It was decided to dispense with all formalities.
SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff
and seconded by Councilman Kurvers that the Village of Chanhassen
does have adequate solid waste collection service. The following
voted in favqr thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Council-
man Neils to approve Ordinance #51 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING
FOR AND REGULATING THE DISPOSAL OF REFUSE AND GARBAGE, LICENSING
REFUSE AND GARBAGE COLLECTORS, AND FOR THE ALLEVIATION OF AIR
POLLUTION, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 25." The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
NORTH SERVICE AREA: The Village Attorney gave a status report on
all easements.
The Village Engineer gave an engineering status report.
PROJECT #72-2 (INDUSTRIAL SEWER AND WATER): A motion was made by
Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Kurvers to set the date
for the Public Hearing on Project 72-2 for September 11, 1972, at
7:30 p.m. The fOllowing voted in favor thereof: MayorKlingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.

METRO SEWER ALLOCATION STUDY: A motion was made by Councilman I
Wolf and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to support the joint
sewer cost allocation study by the Metropolitan Sewer Board and
the Metropolitan Council. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Council-
man Neils to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
