1972 08 21 ~ , I I I CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - August 21, 1972 The regular Chanhassen Village Council Meeting on August 21, 1972, was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. COUNCIL MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the Minutes of August 7, 1972, with the fOllowing amendment: Under Sewer Back Up Problem, page I, delete the word "excessive". The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Kurvers that the Planning Commission Minutes of August 8, 1972, be noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman Neils that the Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of August 1, 1972, be noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen,~ennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.. RECYCLING DAY: Craig Shulstad gave an overall report on the success of the recycling day. A motion was made by Côuncilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Neils to endorse the recycling day project. Having a recycling day every two months for the next twelve months. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. SUNRISE RIDGE: Mr. Linsmayer requested that the assessments levied against the five additional lots in Sunrise Ridge not be charges interest from 1968 on. The Administrator informed the Council that he had charged interest on the first Building Permit Application for Lot 2, Block 1, Sunrise R.idge. The Village Attorney stated that the Council was legally obligated to charge interest on this assessment as on all others. The Council agreed that interest should be charged. The following bids were submitted by the Administrator for installing laterals to the four remaining lots in Sunrise Ridge: 1. Sullivan Septic Service $1,250.00 2. Albert Rybak Sewer and Water $1,400.00 3. Bob's Plumbing $1,990.00 ~ CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - August 21, 1972 -2- A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Wolf to approve the bid of Sullivan in the amount of $1,250.00 for installing laterals to the four remaining lots in Sunrise Ridge. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. I BILLS: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Wolf to approve the bills as submitted with specific approval being given to allow Program #106 to go over the budget $919.52 and Program #212 to go over the budget $190.88. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PROJECT #71-2: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Kurver to approve the final payment to Park Construction of $5,486.36. Check not to be released until a statement from Henry Schutrop is received that all bills have been paid to him for costs incurred in this project. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Council- men Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. FINANCIAL REPORT: The Village Treasurer gave the 6 months Financial I Report. PROJECT #67-4: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Neils that the Village deliver up to three loads of sand, allow up to $100.00 for a tree and an electrician be asked to check out the yard light. The Village will pay for the cost of repairing the light only if malfunction was caused by the sewer construction. The Village will approve no further costs. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. The Administrator stated that Mr. & Mrs. Erickson would sign their easement if the above was approved by the Council. CARVER BEACH TAX LOTS: The Village Attorney will check out the legal ramifications of acquiring tax delinquent lots in Carver Beach. NORTH SERVICE AREA: General discussion on the North Service Area by the Village Attorney and the Village Engineer. HENNEPIN COUNTY LEAGUE: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Village of Chanhassen I join the Hennepin County League, dues to be $50.00 per year. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. DORN APARTMENTS: Discussion on dog problems at the Meadows. A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Council- man Neils to adjourn.
