The Administrator read the official notice of the Public Hearing. The
Village Engineer explained the proposed project. General Discussion
was held about the project.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to adjourn the Public Hearing. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils
and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.

CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - October 9, 1972
The regular Chanhassen Village Council Meeting on October 9, 1972 was
opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were
present: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and
Wolf.
72-3 CARVER BEACH ROAD IMPROVEMEN~: A motion was made by Councilman
Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve West 68th
Street as a temporty means of ingress and egress. The work is to
be done by the Village Dept. and the cost will be approximately
$3500.00. The followi~g voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried. '
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS: The following minutes of the Board
of Adjustments and Appeals were read:
REQUEST FOR VARIANCE - WILLIAM HUNTINGTON: Mrs. Carol
Huntington was present requesting a variance from Ordinance
No.45, Section 2.03. She was requesting a variance to
build a house on Lots 1391 - 1400 Carver Beach, the building
site is approximately 17,500 square feet whereas the
Ordinance requires 30,000 square feet.
A moticn was made by Dean Scheff and seconded by Ward Passe
to approve the request for variance. The Board Members felt
that the variance request should be approved because of the
uniqueness of the situation and because the property is
surrounded on three sides by roads. Motion unanimously
approved.

CARVER BEACH (PETRUSKA): A discussion was held on the Village
Engineer's report dated October 9, 1972.

A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to table action until further information is secured.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
PARK AVENUE GREENHOUSE: A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers
and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to table any action at this time
as no representative of Park Avenue Greenhouse was present. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
NSA: The Village Attorney discussed the 62nd Street (Rose Lane
Easement problems).
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff that the Easement for Project 71-1F, numbered 10, ll, 12,
13, 14, 15, shall be sole+y for Public utilities. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to approve the purchase of the Well site in the amount
of $2500.00. The location as described on the Purchase Agreement.
The general location is West of County Road #117 in Section 10 in
the proposed Subdivision of Oakmont. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Kli~ge1hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils!
and Wolf. No negatlve votes. Motion carried. '

CARVER BEACH: The Carver Beach Association has requested that they
be allowed to place a sign at the entrance to inform their members
of monthly meetings.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
WOlf,to se~d the request to the Planning Commission for their
co~slderatlon. The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen
Nells, Wolf and Kurvers. Mayor Klingelhutz and Councilmen Benny-
hoff voted no. Motion carried.
1973 ~UDGET: ,A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by
Councllman,Nells to accept all the programs in the General Government
of the P7oposed 1973 Bud~et. The following voted in favor thereof:

No negative Votes. Motion carried. ' .

1973 BUDGET, CON'T: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded
by Councilman Neils to accept all programs in the Community Services
of the 1973 proposed Budget. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to accept all programs in Park and Recreation of the 1973
proposed Budget. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingel-
hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to accept all programs in the Organizational Support Services
of the 1973 Budget. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to accept program 651 and 761 of the 1973 proposed Budget.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to approve program 871 of the 1973 proposed Budget. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Neils to approve resolution #l0972l entitled Resolution Setting the
1973 Budget. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
HOCKEY RINK: The Administrator informed the Council that the Material
for the Hockey Rink quotations were as follows:

A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Neils
to approve the purchase of the Hockey Rink materials from Lyman Lumber
the low bidder. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilman Bennyhoff, Neils and Wolf. Councilman Kurvers voted no.
Motion carried.
NEW EMPLOYEE: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded
by Councilman Wolf to hire Karen Schneider as the receptionist-typist
with a starting salary of $435.00 per month. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
