CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - December 26, 1972

A special Chanhassen Village Council Meeting was called by order of
the Mayor on December 26, 1972 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chanhassen Village
Hall. The following members were present: Mayor Klingelhutz, Council-
men Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and-seconded by Councilman Kurvers
to dispense with all formalities. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilman Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
DEPUTY CLERK: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by
Councilman Neils that Gerald Schlenk be appointed temporary Deputy
Clerk and be authorized to enter the Village Safety deposit box
maintained in the State Bank of Chanhassen along with another approved
signature. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
INSURANCE: A discussion was held on the Employee Health Insurance plan
with Blue Shield.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to continue the Health Insurance plan with Blue Shield as is. The follow-
ing voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
The Council feels at this time that they need more information regarding
the new plan and would like to have the Blue Shield Insurance representa-
tive corne to a meeting and explain it more thouroughly.
VILLAGE AUTOMOBILE: A discussion was held on the Ad that appeared in the
Carver County Sun advertising for bids for a Village Automobile.
A motion was made by Councilmen Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Wolf to withdraw the invitation. to bid for a Village Automobile be-
cause the Council did not review the specs or approve them. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Benny-
hoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
TRUCK AM RADIOS: Henry Wrase requested that three AM radios be installed
in each of the following trucks: 1972 Ford ãump truck, 1969 Chevy
dump truck, 1973 Ford dump truck. The Council instructed Henry to
shop around as to prices and report back to the Council at the Jan. 8,
1973 meeting.
ORDINANCE #5-D: A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded
by Councilman Neils to amend Ordinance #5 and adopt Ordinance #5-D.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Counoilman
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. Motion carried.

INVESTMENT 72-BI: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded I
by Councilman Kurvers to direct the Treasurer to invest surplus
Bond fund monies in such maturities to make readily available cash
funds for maturing bills at the highest possible interest rate
commensurate with the need for cash to meet continuing Sewer and
Water Bills. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils ahd Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
. VILLAGE HALL REMODELING: A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and
seconded by Councilman Wolf to set up a committee of four to study
the remodeling of the Village offices. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and
Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf
to appoint Councilman Kurvers to chairman of the committee, with the
committee consisting of the Administrator-Adolph Tessness, Jerry Schlenk,
and Tim Stone. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf
to adjourn the meeting. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
