CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - January 22,·1973
The special Chanhassen Village Council meeting on January 22, 1973
at 8:00 p.m. was held in the Chanhassen Village Hall and opened
with the Pledge to the Flag. The following people were present:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
COUNCIL MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded
by Councilman Kurvers to approve the minutes of January 15, 1973
after the following correction was ~ade: Under Building Remodeling
Mayor Klingelhutz abstained from voting until after the report
from the firemen is completed and he has time to re-evaluate all
the material and the total need for remodeling. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried~
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and
seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the minutes of the
Public Hearing - Pleasant Acres II of January 8, 1973. The following
voted in favor 'thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to approve the minutes of the Public Hearing - Pleasant
Acres II on January 15, 1973 after the following additions are made:
Also present at the Public Hearing were Keith Anderson, Mrs.
Anderson and RogerOas for the project and Mrs. Shram, Dale Collins
Vernon Peterson and Gary Carlson'against the project. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to have the Village Planner review the report of the
Pleasant Acres II Addition and submit basic guidelines for
feasibility and the best use of this landincludirig the land SO\;lth
of the Creek. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingel-
hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
PARK AND RECREATION: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and
seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Park and Recreation minutes
of January 16, 1973 be noted and read. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhut~, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kùrvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Wolf that Dave Wilson be reappointed to the Park and Recreation
Commission to fill the remaining term of Robert Fayfield expiring
12-31-73. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils arid Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
NEWSLETTER: A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded
by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the publishing of a Newsletter

NEWSLETTER CON'T: using up to a maximum of $375.00 for each of
the four publications upon approval by the Village Council of
the final draft form prior to printing. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.

INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Benny-
hoff and seconded by Councilman Neils that the Industrial Commission
minutes of January 17, 1973 be noted and read. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to skip No. 2 on the Agenda. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and
Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
PAYING BILLS: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded
by Councilman Kurvers to approve the Paying of 1972 and 1973 bills.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
BLUE SHIELD: Elmer McLean from Blue Cross - Blue Shield gave a
presentation on the revised Health Insurance Plan for the Individual I
Village Employee. The present contract costs $16.70 and $28.67 for
dependent coverage totaling $45.37 per month. The revised plan
would cost $21.33 for the individual Village employee and $35.33 for
dependent coverage totaling $56l66 per month. This cost is subject
to ten persons or more.
PRUDENTIAL: John Johnson and Richard Vaaler from Prudential
gave a presentation on the Group Security Program Proposal.

coverage totaling $54.96 per month. This cost is subject to
persons or more.

EROSION PROBLEM - BLUFF, CREEK: Henry Wrase gave a report on the
erosion problems in Bluff Creek Highlands Second Addition in Outlot A.
The Council instructed Russell Larson to apply all possible pressures
to Paul Steiner to get necessary documents needed to get a Quick Claim
Deed for Acquistion of the property.
The Administrator was instructed to find minutes regarding acquistion
of Bluff Creek Outlot A to find out the intent of the Council's motion.
RESOLUTION - TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPT: A
motion was made~ Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to approve Resolution No. 122731 entitled Technical Assistance from I
the State Highway Dept. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.

III PARKING ORDINANCE: An amendment to Ordinance 3C will read as follows:
d. No parking for vehicles which height exceeds
6 ft. 6 in. from Great Plains Blvd. to Laredo Drive.
ORDINANCE NO. 33: A motion was made~ Councilman Bennyhoff and
seconded by Councilman Kurvers to Ordinance No. 33A as submitted
and amended. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingel-
hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
BURDICK PROPERTY: Russell Larson gave a report on the Burdick
Property Development plans. The Village Council instructed the
Village Attorney to instruct Mr. Burdick that Sewer, Water and
paved roads must be completed to the property lines.
WELL SITE,: The Minnetonka School District will give the Village
a 15 foot easement on the West side of the Well Si~èþroviding the
Village fence it and put a gate on it and to be used fDr a servioing
tower only.
Frank Kurvers stated that he would like to receive the publication
of the Local Government Legislative Bulletin.

Neils that the Special meeting be adjourned. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
