1973 06 07 CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - June 7, 1973 - Special meeting -1- I The special Chanhassen Village Council meeting was called to order on June 7, 1973 at 8:00 p.m. in the Chanhassen Village Hall by Acting Mayor James Bennyhoff. All formalities were dispensed of. The following members of Village Council were present: Acting Mayor Bennyhoff, Councilman Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. Mayor Klingelhutz was absent. BONDS 7l-lB: Robert Ehlers was present to read the bids for the $1,650,000. Improvement bond for the Village of Chanhassen: BIDDER NET INTEREST COST NET INTEREST RATE Kalman & Dain & Quail Minneapolis, MN #1 $808,487.00 5~2l604% First National Bank of Mpls. #2 Minneapolis, MN 814,118.75 5.25237% Juran & Moody, Inc. St. Paul, MN 819,162.00 5,284916% A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Kurvers to approve the resolution regarding Improvement Bonds of 1973 to the Village of Chanhassen awarding the sale of bonds to Dain, Kalman & Quail, Inc. for Net Interest Cost of $808,487.00 with a net Interest Rate of 5.21604%. The following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayo:r~BE?nRyhof:fjÇoÜfic±lmen Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motron carried. . I A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman Neils to approve the resolution authorizing the issuance of $1,650,000.00 Im- provement Bonds for 1973, prescribing their terms and form, and providing their payment. The following voted in favor thereof: ACTING Mayor Bennyhoff, Councilmen Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PUMP HOUSE AND BOOSTER STATION: Ken Miller from Schoell & Madson, Inc. was present to explain the changes on Project 7l-1B Pump House at Well No. 3 and High Service Area Booster Station as per the Engineer's letter of June 7, 1973. A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Neils to accept the following deductions on the North Chanhassen Sanitary Sewer and Water Project 7l-lB, Pump House and Well No. 3 and High Service Area Booster Station, per engineers letter of June 7, 1973: GBNERAL Pump House. Substitute epoxy painted (two coats) concrete block! for the glazed structural tile for the building interior walls. ¡f DEDUCT - $2,790.00 I Substitute 12" concrete block epoxy painted (two coats) for poured concrete walls. DEDUCT - $742.00 MECHANICAL: Pump House Booster pump discharge modification DEDUCT - $220.00 · ~ CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - June 7, 1973 -2- MECHANICAL: I DEDUCTS, CON'T: 10" Butterfly valve, "Pratt" to "Grinnell" brand DEDUCT - $140.00 Booster Station. 10" Butterfly valve, "Pratt" to "Grinnell" brand. DEDUCT: $140.00 Total Mechanical Contract Deducts is $500.00 This will make $81,214.00 for the total Pump House and Booster Station. The following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayor Bennyhoff, Councilmen Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf to accept larger brick in earth tones with matching mortar and suitable dark brown trim. The following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayor Bennyhoff, Councilman Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. UTILITY HELP: Discussion was held on the hiring of a new Utility man. A decision will be made after a more detailed study of wage information and job classification is acquired. I A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Wolf to hire Mike Dorsey as a summer part time help at the rate of $2.50 per hour as long as needed in the Utility Dept. The following voted in favor thereof: Acting,Mayor Bennyhoff, Councilman Kurvers, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
