The regular Chanhassen Village Council meeting was reconvened at 8:30 p.m.
on November 27, 1973 and was called to order by Mayor Klingelhutz and was
opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present:
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf.
MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to approve the November 5, 1973 minutes after the following
correction: Page 4 under State Highway Dept. delete, renumbered as
Trunk Highways 5,51 and 187. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers, and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
toapprove the November 7, 1973 minutes. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff
and seconded by Councilman Kurvers that the Planning Commission minutes
of November 14, 1973 be noted and read. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klinglehutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
CBD AND FLOOD PLAIN ORDINANCE: Russ Larson, Village Attorney, will present
the Village Council with the CBD and Flood Plain Ordinances by January
15, 1974.

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman
Wolf and seconded by Councilman Kurvers that the special Park and
Recreation Commission minutes of November 13, 1973 be noted and read.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion wasnade by Councilman Bennyhoff
and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Human Rights Commission minutes
of November 14, 1973 be noted and read. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. NO
negative votes. Motion carried.
WARMING HOUSE: No action was taken by the Council on the warming house.

POLICE CONTRACT: A discussion was held in regards to the 1974 Police
Contract. The Council will meet with the Carver County Sheriff, County
Commissioners and the Chanhassen Police Chief, village Administrator and
Village Attorney on December 3, 1973 at 6:30 p.m. for a clarification in
writing ~rom the Sheriff on the amount of service Chanhassen will have.
RENAISSANCE FAIR: A discussion was held in regards to the Renaissance Fair.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Kurvers
to send a letter to the Renaissance Fair in regards to moving the structure
within the time prescribed or satisfy the Council that they can secure
the structure and if they wish to remain in Chanhassen to make application
for a conditional use permit. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. No negative votes.
Motion carried.

McFARLAND SKATING RINK: Mrs. McFarland is requesting the Village to flood
an area in her front yard for a skating rink which would serve about 40
children in the Murray Hill area. The neighborhood will pay the expense I
of the water and the Village time spent. The Village is agreeable to
flooding the area when time is available.
CERMAK: The Village Attorney explained the progress being made in regards
to the Cermak building.
RESIGNATION: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to accept the resignation of Arnie Ryba from the Planning Com-
mission with regret. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingel-
hutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
A letter will be sent from the Village thanking him for his years of "
dedicated service.
The Mayor read letters of resignation from Arnie Weimerskirch and Dave
Wilson from the Park and Recreation Commission effective December 31, 1973.
NSA: The Village Attorney will write letters to the persons owning the
illegal duplexes in the NSA.
The Village Attorney gave the status on the Minnetonka School Assessment.
ENERGY CRISIS: A discussion was held in regards to what the Village can
do to conserve energy. The Village chambers will be held at 68oF.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by
Wolf to adjourn the meeting. The following voted in favor
Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Kurvers and Wolf.
