Michael G. Johnson - excessive valuation increase for unfinished
recreation room
Bill & Marie Weber - Wrong measurement on house and taxed for unfinished
recreation room.
Les & Irene Bridger - Excessive tax - home not finished.
Roy & Carol Watson - excessive increase when no further improvement
was made.
Conrad Fiskness - checking on assessments.
Ralph Herman, Jr. - checking on assessments.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Kurvers to continue the Board of Review for the next 20 days so persons
having problems many contact the Carver County Courthouse. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs,
Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
The special City Council meeting was.called to order at 8:00 p.m. on May
29, 1974 by Mayor Klingelhutz and was opened with the Pledge to the Flag.
The following members-were present: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers.and Neveaux.
APPOINTING OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE C ITY HOUSING REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY:
A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman Hobbs
to appoint Dan Herbst to the Chanhassen Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Hobbs and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to appoint Gail Stone to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman Hobbs
to appoint Harry B. Funk to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
Dan Herbst entered the room. He stated that at this time he would like
to withdraw his application from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, CONTINUED: A motion was made by
Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Hobbs to withdraw Dan
Herbst name from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs,
Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Hobbs
to appoint Bill Gullickson to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A mofLon was made by Councilman Hobbs and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to appoint Thomas Klingelhutz to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers
and Neveaux. The Mayor Abstained from voting. No NEGAtive votes. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to appoint Herb Bloomberg to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Neveaux
no to consider Adolph Tessness's application for the Housing Redevelopment
Authority because he would be more valuable to the Planning Commission.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
HObbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
The Council would like the Planning Commission to consider his application
for the vacancy on the Planning Commission.
RE- FINANCING OF THE NSA CONSTRUCTION FUND: A motion was made by Councilman
Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Neveaux to authorize the transfer
of $159,231.00 of prepaid assessments from the Debt Service Fund to
the NSA Construction Fund for the purpose of covering additional construction
costs. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to authorize the use of $91,211.00 from the 71 -1 Bond Issue for additional
construction costs in the NSA. Provisions will be set up to pay back the
principal and interest on the use of this money. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers
and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
P COMMISSION ACTION ON BEIERSDORF PUD -3: Lloyd Schnelle, City
Administrator explained the problems which have occurred with this developer.
Dan Herbst further explained the recommendation taken by the Planning
Commission on May 22, 1974. Discussion followed.
A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Kurvers
to direct the Planning Commission and zoning administrator to set up a
time table of development with Beiersdorf under Ordinance #45 Section 14.05
allowing 90 days for the Planning Commission to complete this action.
After which time the Council will direct the attorney to do the necessary
action for changing the zoning. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative
votes. Motion Carried.

RECOMMENDATION FOR TRANSIT COMMISSION: Ed Hjermstad was present
'requesting that the City Council support his reappointment to the
Transit Commission.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Neveaux to instruct the City Administrator to prepare a resolution
stating that the Chanhassen City Council supports the reappointment
of Ed Hjermstad to the Transit Commission for 4 years.
DEVELOPMENT IN CHANHASSEN: Dan Herbst discussed briefly about the
concern for enlarging the Commercial and Industrial sites in Chanhassen.
Discussion followed.
NEIGHBORHOOD PICNIC: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and sec-
onded by Councilman Hobbs to block off Leslee Curve from Glendale to
Maple Street on June 2, 1974 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs,
Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
SENIOR CITIZENS DAY: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and
seconded by Councilman Kurvers to instruct the City Administrator to
write up a Proclamation having Carver County Senior Citizens day on
June 19, 1974. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs, Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded
by Councilman Kurvers to adjourn the meeting. The following voted
in favor thereof: mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hobbs,
Kurvers and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried.
