1974 12 09F CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 9, 1974 f The special meeting of December 9, 1974, was called to order by Mayor Klingelhutz at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen. Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Neveaux, and Kurvers. CLERK - ADMINISTRATOR: The committee has received replys from Barry Brooks, Moe Pukulis, Frank Huszar, and Peter Herlofsky for the position of Clerk - Administrator. Adolph Tessness has also submitted a resume. A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Hobbs to instruct the City Attorney to contact Mr. Pukulis by phone as soon as possible to get him here for an interview by the first of the year if possible. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Neveaux, and Kurvers. No negative votes. Motion harried. The Council will be interviewing December 16, 17, and 18 hopefully Mr. Pukulis can be present one of these dates. A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Neveaux that the Council interview the four remaining candidates on December 16, 17 or 18 at 7:00 p.m. Councilman -elect Craig Shulstad will be included in the interviewing. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Neveaux, and Kurvers. No negative votes. Motion carried. A petition was submitted, signed by approximately 40 persons, asking the Council to reinstate Adolph Tessness as Clerk - Administrator. Mayor Klingelhutz abstained. Motion carried. LOWELL CARLSON - GARAGE: Mr. Carlson wants to build a "L" shaped four stall garage with part of the building to be used as a shop. _ Mr. Carlson will be put on a Council Agenda to discuss his plans for the garage. A motion was made by Councilman Kurvers Hobbs to appoint the following persons r the Special Senatorial Election December Mayor Klingelhutz left the meeting. Councilman Bennyhoff presided. Chanhassen City Council Meeting December 9, 1974 -2- RADIO REPAIR CONTRACT: A motion was made by Councilman Hobbs and seconded by Councilman Neveaux to approve the service contract with Mobile Radio at a cost of $56.50 a month. This applies to the Maintenance Department radios and base station. The following voted in favor: Councilmen Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Neveaux, and Kurvers. No negative votes. Motion carried. CHANHASSEN DINNER THEATRE TEMPORARY SIGN: The Dinner Theatre is requesting permission to install a temporary sign on the northwest corner of Highways 5 and 101 for the holidays. A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Hobbs to grant the permit for a temporary sign to be placed on the northwest corner of Highways 5 and 101. The permit will expire January 6, 1975. The following voted in favor: Councilmen Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Kurvers, and Neveaux. No negative votes. Motion carried. ELECTION CHAIRMAN: A motion was made by Councilman Hobbs and seconded by Councilman Kurvers to approve the salary of the Election Chairman at $2.50 an hour. The following voted in favor: Councilmen Hobbs, Bennyhoff, Neveaux, and Kurvers. No negative votes. Motion carried. DUCK LAKE SANITARY SEWER: The City Engineer continues to recommend that the City not offer to pay anything but the City will assist Eden Prairie on trying to get interceptor status. Eden Prairie is completing its public hearing on this project December 10. A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Hobbs t "adjourn.
