CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - October 4, 1971
The special Chanhassen Village Council meeting on October 4, 1971,
in the Chanhassen Village Hall, was opened with the Pledge to the
Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Council-
men Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf.
COUNCIL MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and
seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the Council Minutes of
September 27, 1971. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klinge1hutz, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by
Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Klinge1hutz that the
Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of September 21, 1971, be
noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman
Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Wolf that the Planning
Commission Minutes of September 28, 1971, be noted and read. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
BUDGET DISCUSSION: General discussion on the Budget.
Opening statements were made by the Mayor and the Council explaining
the proposed Budget, to the persons p~èsent. The Mayor and each
Councilman stated how they felt about the proposed Budget.
Miscellaneous questions were asked by the people present.
Tuesday, October 12, 1971, at 8:10 p.m., the Council will take
final action on the Budget.
STREET IMPROVEMENTS: The Village Administrator read a petition
requesting street improvement on West 76th Street.
A number of residents voiced objections to the proposed improvements.
Henry Wrase was instructed to prepare a report on these improvements.
SANITARY LANDFILL: There was discussion on the sanitary landfill
south of West 78th Street and west of Animal Fair. The landfill
has been covered over with clean fill. However, the cement trucks
are continuing to dump at this site.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded by Councilman
Neils that the Administrator instruct the Police Department to
ticket any vehicle dumping at this site in the future. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion
carried.

PROJECT 7l-4: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and .1
seconded by Councilman Wolf to approve the easement across the
Don Reed property at a cost of $1.00. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
PROJECT 7l-3: A motion was made by Councilman Wolf and seconded
by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve Change Order #2 in the
amount of $850.00 increase. The following voted in favor there-
of: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and
Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried.
Mayor Coulter stated that this was the last first Monday of the
month meeting he could attend.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
