Receive Feasibility Report and Call for Public Hearing for
Tanadoona/Dogwood Street & Utility Jrnprovements
Project No. 00-00-1
It is recommended that the City Council receive the attached feasibility report and
call a public hearing for the above-referenced project on December 11, 2000.
The property owners adjacent to Dogwood Road petitioned the City to explore the
feasibility of extending utilities to their neighborhood as part of the BC-7 and
BC-8 Trunk Utility Project No. 00-01. In addition, the City-maintained mound
system (a type of septic system) that serves three properties is failing.
Engineering staff has received notice that corrective action must be done within
ten months of the notice.
The feasibility report and its recommendations are attached. This project is an
assessed project and is therefore required to have a public hearing.

, On-site sewage treatment system at: 7330 Dogwood Road
The on'site sewage treatment system located at the above address serves three residences
located at 7321,7331 and 7341 Dogwood Road. As I understand it, the system is owned
and operated by the city. The septic tanks on these properties are piped into a lift
station/dosing chamber that then distributes the effluent to a double mound system.
Inspector Randy Debner has notified me that the system is failing and sewage effluent is
periodically being discharged to the surface; therefore this failing system is considered an
imminent threat to public health.
In accordanc~.with City Ordinance, the discharge must be abated aitd the system must be
replaced or re¡i¡üted within ten months. Replacement, however, may not be possible; soil
borings indicate the sitç, II\!ly not be suitable for a system. . ,

TANADOONAlDOGWOOD UTILITY AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 00-01-1
NOTICE IS HEREBY GNEN that the Chanhassen City Council will meet in the City
Hall Council Chambers located at 690 City Center Drive on Monday, December 11, 2000 at
6:30 p.m. for a public hearing on the Tanadoona/Dogwood Road Utility and Street
Improvements, City Project No. 00-01-1. This project deals with the construction of trunk
utilities and street improvements to serve existing homes on Dogwood Road. Said
improvements are proposed to be financed by special assessments. The total project cost of the
recommended project are estimated to be approximately $117,700.00.
All interested persons may appear and be heard at said time and place.
