RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPOINTMENT OF DENNY LAUFENBURGER TO
THE METRO CITIES' SEAT ON THE TRANSPORTATION ADVSIORY BOARD (TAB)
WHEREAS,the City of Chanhassen strongly supports the application of Denny Laufenburger to
the Metro Cities' seat on the Transportation Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Laufenburger has been actively serving on the Chanhassen City Council since
January 2011; and
WHEREAS,Mr. Laufenburger has a wealth of knowledge based on his experiences and long,
active role in local politics, such as serving on the following councils, commissions, and boards:
• Chanhassen City Council, 2011 to Present;
• Chanhassen Economic Development Authority, 2011 to Present;
• Chanhassen Planning Commission, 2007-2010, serving as Chair in 2010;
• Westwood Community Church, Elected to the Leadership Board in 2005, served as Chairman
through September 2013; and
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Marketing, and Management Information Systems; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Laufenburger also serves in numerous leadership roles for civic and
community organizations, including the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce, and is the voice of
local sporting teams including the Chanhassen Red Birds Amateur Baseball Team, School District 112
high school teams, and Crown College Football.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chanhassen City Council strongly supports
the application of Denny Laufenburger to the Metro Cities' seat on the Transportation Advisory Board as
he has provided the highest level of service to Chanhassen residents over the past three years. Further,
his diverse career in local government and volunteer leadership positions makes him an excellent
candidate to serve as a voice for the Metro Cities seat on the Transportation Advisory Board and
advocate for a balanced regional transportation system that accommodates the needs of metro area cities.
Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 13th day of January,2014.
