1e. Contract Amendment No 1 for Phase II of Downtown Redev. I k CITY OF ie. 4 1 ' ,. 690 COULTER DRIVE • P.O. BOX 147 • CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA 55317 (612) 937-1900 Action by City AdminlsttelOC MEMORANDUM Endorsed t/ fl ! I TO: Don Ashworth, City Manager tdodifled 1 Rejected FROM: Gary Warren, City Engineer Date 1td/_ G bete Submitted to Commission I DATE: November 2, 1989 .. Dote Submitted to Council I SUBJ: Approve Contract Amendment No. 1 for Phase II , Downtown Redevelopment Project No. 86-11B IIPhase II of the downtown redevelopment is also coming to a rapid conclusion. As the project progressed, certain elements of the I project scope were modified by necessity. The widening of Market Boulevard, for example, was to accommodate turn lanes for the Crossroads National Bank site as well as the decision to construct a full-movement intersection at Market Boulevard with I Trunk Highway 5 to accommodate the Rosemount Engineering traffic demands. This element comprises $47,089 . 92 of the $58,752 .17 contract amendment. IThe modifications to the electrification of fountains A and B in the storm water detention pond resulted from the decision to add I the second fountain to the project scope. This had been antici- pated in the Phase I construction element and has been necessi- tated from and aesthetic and water quality standpoint. Elements C and D of the change order are relatively straightforward Iresulting from the change in scope and field conditions. I have found the attached contract amendment to be in order and 11 the recommended addition is within the construction budget allo- cated for this project. It is therefore recommended that Contract Amendment No. 1 for Phase II of the downtown redevelop- !' project be approved in the amount of $58, 752.17 and that the contract ceiling amount be increased to $702,180. 50.
