File No. 88-13
1 Attached is the bid tabulation for the Lake Ann Park expansion
project. As with the Audubon Road improvement project, we have
received very favorable and competitive bids for this project.
I As noted in the attached bid tabulation , we requested two alter-
nate bids as a part of this solicitation . Alternate #1 was for
the construction of concrete barrier curbing within the parking
areas of the site and Alternate #2 addresses the sealcoating and
I striping of the existing roadway surfaces which are in need of
upkeep and which would encounter further abuse as a result of
this construction project.
IThe engineer ' s estimate on this project was $282 , 660 . As can be
seen, the low bidder, Imperial Developers , was $59, 748 below the
I engineer ' s estimate for the base bid. Including the alternate
bids, the low bidder is $66 , 747 under the engineer ' s estimate.
Imperial Developers has been involved with several projects in
the City over the past one and one-half years, i .e. Kerber
I Boulevard, McGlynn Bakery and is also the low bidder on the
Audubon Road project. We have had good experience with them. It
is therefore recommended that the project be awarded to the low
I bidder, Imperial Developers . It is also recommended that since
the low bid including Alternates 1 and 2 is below the base bid
budget, the City accept and award Alternates 1 and 2 as well .
The total award for the low bidder with Alternates 1 and 2 is
Itherefore $239 , 393.
