Approval of a Resolution Prohibiting On-Street Parking along
Lake Drive West between Audubon Rd and Powers Blvd
City Project No. 98-16
Lake Drive West, classified as an Class II Collector, has previously been
designated by the City of Chanhassen with Mn/DOT approval as -3 Municipal
State Aid street, No. 122-010. Due to the street width, State Aid regulations
require that parking be prohibited on at least one side of the street. The approved
construction plans call for no parking zones on both sides of the street for the
entire length of the project.
Parking overflow at Sunset Ridge Park may become a concern in the future, and
will be addressed if such problems arise.
Therefore, it is recommended that the Chanhassen City Council adopt the attached
resolution, which prohibits on-street parking on both sides of Lake Drive West
from Audubon Road to Powers Boulevard.

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A NO ON-STREET PARKING ZONE ON
LAKE DRIVE WEST, MSA 122-010,
FROM AUDUBON ROAD TO POWERS BOULEVARD (CSAH 17)
PROJECT NO. 98-16
WHEREAS, on June 14, 1999, the City Council approved the plans and
specifications for the Lake Drive West Construction Project No. 98-16 from Audubon
Road and Powers Boulevard [CSAH 17] (Resolution 99-47); and
WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen has previously designated, with Mn/DOT
approval, that Lake Drive West be classified as a Municipal State-Aid street; and
WHEREAS, Municipal State-Aid maintenance and future needs funding is
desired to continue for this road; and
WHEREAS, The approved construction plans specify two (2) driving lanes and
no parking lanes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED by the Chanhassen City Council that no
on-street parking be allowed on either side of Lake Drive West (Project No. 98-16) from
Audubon Road and Powers Boulevard [CSAH 17].
