Highway 101 Trail, Review Concept Drawings

The City held two open houses to gain public input on the conceptual alignment
of a trail along Highway 101. Comments .!Tom those meetings along with survey
data collected by HTPO have been used to determine a proposed alignment.
The first open house, held June 13t\ was intended to gain initial input.!Tom the
properties abutting the proposed minimal use trail. 81 properties were sent
notification of the meeting. Approximately 30 people attended the meeting.
The second open house was held June 27th at the Chanhassen Recreation Center.
The meeting was publicized through an article in theChanhassen Villager.
Notification letters were not sent for this meeting. This meeting was intended to
gather input .!Tom a wider base of interested residents and property owners.

HTPO supplied copies ofthe plans to Carver County, Hennepin County, and
MnlDOT for comments. Both Carver and Hennepin Counties responded that they
did not have jurisdiction for the project. Hennepin County did note that the trail
conflicted with potential road improvements to Highway 101. No comments were

IÌTPO will attend the City Council Work Session to present the proposed
alignment and discuss any City Council input before finalizing the conceptual
alignment and the drainage and right-of-way analysis for submittal to MnlDOT for
a limited use permit.
