Accept Utility Improvements in Arboretum Business Park 3rd
Addition - Project No. 99-5
Staff has received a letter rrom Mr. Jerry Backman, Project Engineer with Schoell &
Madson, requesting the City consider acceptance of the utility improvements in the
above-referenced project. According to Mr. Backman, the utility improvements
have been completed in general conformance with the approved plans and
specifications. City staff performed a walk-through inspection and fTnds the projects
ready for City acceptance.
It is therefore recommended that the City Council accept the utility improvements in
Arboretum Business Park 3rd Addition for perpetual maintenance and ownership
contingent upon the developer/contractor supplying the City with a two~year
maintenance bond.

Arboretum Business Park III Addition
Dear Dave:
All work on the storm sewer, sanitary sewer and watermaln on Arboretum
Business Park III Addition has been completed. Schoell& Madson, Inc. staff provided
part-time construct/on ,observation and construction staking on this'project. On this
basis, we certify that the storm sewer, sanitary sewerandwatennain improvements
were constructed In substantial compUance with the approved plans and specifications.
On behalf of Steiner Development, we are requesting that the storm sewer, sanitary
, sewer and watermain now be accepted by the City, and that the warranty period start.
Machtemes Construction, Inc., the contractor, will provide the maintenance bond.
Please advise us of the warranty start date for the bond.
We are also requesting a reduction in the present letter of credit. The value of
the remaining work is:
2" bituminous wearing course (8' Wire trail for Lots 1 and 2)
