ISUBJ: July 4th Band Selection
IAttached please find quotes from two companies for the July 4th
entertainment. Two things were requested when inquiring about
I bands; entertainment for the entire family and a reasonable cost.
The date chosen for the street dance and fireworks display was
Monday, July 4 . Other activities will take place the Saturday
and Sunday preceding the Holiday.
IHoffman Talent Management provided a band in 1987 called the
X-Rays, they have since changed their name to the Hi-Topps but
I their performance remained basically the same. In considering
the cost and quality of family entertainment, it is staff ' s
recommendation to accept the bid of $1,200 . 00 for a performance
1 by the Hi-Topps on July 4, 1988.
UPDATE 3/8/88
IThe Park and Recreation Commission reviewed this item and felt an
entertaining show had been provided in the past two years with
I the band now called the Hi-Topps. As their quote was the lowest,
they saw no reason to change. The Commission recommended unani-
mously to award the July 4th band contract to the 50 's , 60 ' s, and
70 's band, the Hi-Topps.
