2014-51CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA DATE. July 28, 2014 RESOLUTION NO: 2014 -51 MOTION BY Ernst SECONDED BY. McDonald RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR METROPOLITAN COUNCIL ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES (MCES) CLEAN WATER FUND GRANT WHEREAS, through efforts coordinated with the Metro Cities Association and the Metropolitan Council, the 2013 Minnesota Legislature designated $1 Million of Clean Water Grant Program Funds for a sanitary sewer inflow /infiltration reduction cost share grant program for metropolitan cities to mitigate inflow and infiltration private sewer services, and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services Division has been assigned to administer the grant program, and WHEREAS, after meeting with eligible cities and holding a public meeting for the purpose of gathering public input, the Metropolitan Council approved processes, guidelines and schedules for the grant program, and WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services has identified the City of Chanhassen as one of many metro cities having an excessive amount of storm and ground water, commonly referred to as Inflow and Infiltration, entering the sanitary sewer system, and WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen is willing to faithfully administer all terms of the grant for the benefit of its property owners. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Chanhassen will submit application to the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services for its 2013 Clean Water Fund I &I Grant Program, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works /City Engineer, or his successor or assignee, will act as the City of Chanhassen's designated authorized representative and point of contact for this Grant Program.
