Fire Prevention:
A fire prevention presentation was conducted for the senior center on July 14t11 covering
several topics for the group.
National Night Out was a huge success, the Fire Dept. had four apparatus and two
command vehicles on the roads visiting numerous neighborhoods. The parties were well
attended this year, particularly at Pioneer Park and the Reflections neighborhoods. Many
families enjoyed the beautiful evening and visiting with the firefighters and climbing on
the trucks.
Fire Investigations: No fires to report on.
Fire Inspections: Hotel and apartment building fire inspections are almost complete. All
appear to be in very good condition. The violations found are minor and are easily
repaired. Most corrections are completed in a 30 day time frame and require a follow up
inspection for the violation.
Other buildings at various stages of plan review or construction include Powers Point
office warehouse, Great Plains strip mall, The Sinclair gas station site, and BIG
office /warehouse, Dunn Brothers coffee shop in the Cub foods store, Bluff Creek Senior
Cottages, K.Hovnanian Townhomes and numerous small remodel projects.
