The preliminary design and environmental document work will ready the project for
final design and ultimately construction The construction of the project is currently
not funded; however the further the project is developed and becomes "shovel ready"
the more likely it will become funded. City staff has been coordinating with
MnDOT and Carver County to develop a proposed financing plan The schedule for
the final design and construction phases of the project will be dependent on the
determination of a project financing plan
DISCUSSION
Over the past 3 months, City staff has been meeting with the consulting team,
representatives of Carver County and MnDOT to develop and evaluate design
alternatives and begin preparation of the EAW Staff and the consulting team will
review these design alternatives with the Council at the work session We are
requesting input from the Council on the project before proceeding further with
preliminary design and public involvement activities Representatives of Carver
County and MnDOT have been invited to loin us for this discussion.
