On February 16 at 0225 am, Chanhassen Fire responded to a fire within a residence on Tecumseh Lane. The fire was located inside the wall space above a wood burning fire place The fire was caused by fire and heat extension through the masonry fire box extending to the wood mantle and framing behind the sheet rock The fire box had eroded due to age and use Fire Inspections. We promoted home fire safety devices, hands on fire extinguisher training, and a drawing for door prizes.
