With the election of Elise Ryan to the City Council, a vacancy was created on the commission, and her term would have expired at the end of March as well. • One or Two 1 -Year Youth Positions: The terms of Youth Commissioners Jacob Stolar and Tyler Kobilaresik are expiring. As both are graduating from high school in the spring, they will no longer be eligible to serve as youth representatives. The commission bylaws allow for either one or two youth positions and only one application has been received. At the last meeting, the council interviewed three applicants for the Park & Recreation Commission (Jennifer Hougham, Robert Macuna, and Lauren Dale). PJ Williams apologized for not attending his scheduled interview on March 23, but was unable to because of a delayed flight. His interview has been rescheduled for April 13 at 6:30 pm, and he will do his best to attend, but it may be difficult due to his work schedule that day. He understands that if he does not make it that he probably would not receive an appointment. Additionally, Mark Herzog was unable to attend his interview with the Park & Recreation Commission due to illness and therefore the commission has not met Mr. Herzog. g:\coinmissi n#rr,ivi-ft.Iay and Planning for Tomorrow Mayor and City Council April 13, 2015 Page 2 Environmental Commission • Three 3 -year positions are available. Only one application for the Environmental Commission was received. On March 9, the City Council reappointed incumbent Bret Borth to a three-year term and asked staff to re - advertise the vacancies. Applications were accepted through April 3rd and one person has applied (David Hess). Knowing that there were not enough candidates for the number of vacancies on this commission, the council asked people who were interviewing for other commissions if they would be interested in a position on the Environmental Commission. Robert Macuna expressed interest in an appointment wherever needed. The application forms and scoring sheets are attached. Appointments will be made at the regular meeting. ATTACHMENTS 1.
