Community Amphitheatre Proposal—Commission Co-Chair Brent Carron will Fax 952 2271110 present information he has gathered concerning the benefits of a community Website amphitheater as a gathering spot. www ci chanhassen mn us Chanhassen is a Community for Life-Providing for Today and Planning for Tomorrow Todd Gerhardt April 27, 2015 Page 2 The Park and Recreation Commission would like to acknowledge the City Council for helping lead the effort to complete the following projects last year: 1 Highway 101 South Pedestrian Underpass and Trail Improvements—The Highway 101 South project included a pedestrian underpass at Bandimere Community Park and extensive trails and trail connections on both the east and west sides of the new highway These improvements provide much sought-after pedestrian connectivity for both existing and future residents 2 Pioneer Pass Neighborhood Park—Pioneer Pass Park opened in July of 2014 through the assistance of dozens of neighborhood volunteers who constructed the park's two playgrounds! Area neighbors love the new public facilities and spent the remainder of 2014 getting to know one another better through frequent visits to the park 3 Tennis Court Improvements including the construction of six Pickle Ball Courts -Five tennis courts were resurfaced at City Center Park and Lake Ann Park Six new pickle ball courts were constructed at the Chanhassen Recreation Center in the place of two sunken and unusable tennis courts Many local tennis and pickle ball enthusiasts are thrilled with the improved and expanded facilities 4. Neighborhood Park Picnic Shelter Initiative—Three of the new shelters are complete, with three more under construction. Upon conclusion of the project in 2018, 13 new park shelters will be in place?
