Based on site inspections the box culvert under Park Road should be replaced with the Park Road resurfacing
project. This box culvert conveys Riley Creek as it drains south from Lake Ann.
The bridge is eligible for State of Minnesota Bridge Bonding funds. The first step to apply for state bridge
bonding funds is for the City Council to adopt a resolution stating the intent to replace the structure. The
estimate cost to replace the bridge is $100,000. Since the bridge is eligible for state bridge bonding the
resurfacing of Park Road should be scheduled when bridge bonding funds are available.

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN'S
INTENT TO REPLACE CULVERT/BRIDGE NO. R0612 UNDER PARK ROAD
MSA ROUTE NO. 194- 127 -030
WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen's 2015 Capital Improvement Plan includes the
resurfacing of Park Road; and
WHEREAS, Bridge No. R0612 exists under the section of Park Road known as Municipal
State Aid Route No. 194 - 197 -030 has a low sufficiency rating and must be replaced.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The Chanhassen City Council intends to replace Culvert/Bridge No. R0612 under Municipal
State Aid Route No. 194 -197 -030 (Park Road).
2. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is requested to fund the bridge replacement.
