Comments/History Gladys McLeod Harrison Knapp's obituary read:
Gladys McLeod Harrison Knapp passed away on November 4, 1990 in a hospital
in San Diego, California. Born February 14, 1897 in Minneapolis, MN to parents
Margaret K. McLeod and John Adelbert McLeod, one of eight children. Moved to
Brentwood, Lake Minnetonka when young and attended Excelsior schools. She
married Edwin Bennett Harrison on March 27, 1918 in Excelsior, where they lived
until his retirement in January 1955. He passed away on May 30, 1955.
She later lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she married Edwin G. Knapp in
November 1961. He passed away in July 1970. She returned to Excelsior where
she lived until moving to San Diego, California with her daughter in 1983.
Survived by daughter LaMoine Cochrane, San Diego, California; Son Edwin B.
Harrison, Jr., Bismarck, North Dakota and Youngtown, Arizonia; 7 grandchildren,
4 great-grandchildren; Sister Ruth McLeod Erickson; and Brother Donald McLeod,
Valdosta, Georgia. Inurnment is in Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery.
Gladys was active in the Clarence Clofer American Legion Auxiliary, O.E.S.
Chapter #20, Trinity Episcopal Church, the Girl Scouts, among other things. She
was an accomplished pianist and organist.
