Name Edwin Bennett Harrison, Sr.
Comments/History Edwin B. Harrison's obituary read:
Edwin Bennett Harrison passed away suddenly of a heart attack on May 30, 1955
in St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 4,
1894 to James Frank Harrison and Nettie Bennett Harrison, the family moved
back to their home on the old Shakopee Road. He attended Excelsior schools and
the University of Minnesota Agricultural School. Edwin enlisted in the Army in
World War I and served as a US Army Private in the Quarter Master Corps. He
married Gladys M. McLeod on March 27, 1918 and remained in the Excelsior area
until his retirement in 1955. He was active in the Clarence Clofer American
Legion Post, Masonic Lodge, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survived by his wife Gladys, son Edwin B. Jr., daughter LaMoine Cochrane,
brothers Sherwood B. Excelsior and Stuart A. Minneapolis. Services were held in
the Masonic Temple, Excelsior with the Rev. Horton French officiating. Burial in
the old Chanhassen Cemetery.
