Dear Karen,
It was great chatting with you. I am so glad I can help with the information you have been looking for all this
time. Her is a picture of Mary Emma Fitch Clneeseman(Townsend ). It is rather dark because it was sent to me
that way on a disc and for some reason I cannot lighten it.
Like I said, after Rufus died, she moved to Richfield to be near her brother DuPortal Fitch. She is there in the
1875 census. The nest farm was the Townsend's. Then in 1880, she moves with the children to Minneapolis
and the older boys work as millers (C6 Pillsbury. The girls became stenographers. After Mrs Townsend died in
1880 she marries George Townsend the brother of Robert who was the father of Lorr"Etta" Townsend. He had
"About 18?9 Ir. Townsend, who owned the adjoining
farm in Minnesota to my 0randfather Cheesman's, sold
out and went to California. About 1L84 he married the
widow Cheesman. They owned about 40 acres ranch on
Vernon Ave." (M4Ay F_. P/TGGn, WiFe O/= AYAV.0 Chiu a'IVAQ)
