Name Joshua Leonard Moore (Pioneer)
Comments/History The Moore family came to Chanhassen with the Northampton Colony from
Massachusetts in April of 1853. On 7/17/1853, Joshua became a member of first
Independent Church of Excelsior and Chanhassen, by letter of transfer from the
Evangelical Church in Haydenville, Massachusetts. At the church meeting on
7/17/1853, Joshua was elected to the Standing Committee. He served as Church
Deacon in 1854 and 1856. On 6/12/1859, he transferred his membership to the
Methodist Church in Chaska, Minnesota.
