Comments/History Alice's father, Theodore Bost came to Chanhassen in 1855. Theodore pre-
empted land on 6/25/1857. He served as the justice of the peace in Chanhassen
in 1862. He was active in the Republican party and was a member of First
Independent Church of Excelsior and Chanhassen. Alice's parents, Theodore and
Sophie, were Swiss born. They moved to Pomona, California in 1887. The Bost
Farm was located off West 82nd Street near the site of the Minnesota Landscape
Arboretum. Letters written home to Switzerland (1851 - 1920) by Theodore and
Sophie Bost were compiled in the book "A Frontier Family In Minnesota."
