James was the son of John Livingston (1839-1869) and Mary Ann (Aspden) Livingston (1835-1922). (see Grave 57.8) The February 7, 1957 Weekly Valley Herald read as follows: "James H. Livingston Dies at Age of 88: James H. Livingston was born September 30, 1868 in Chanhassen Township, Carver County, Minnesota. He lived in Carver County most of his life, moving to Excelsior in 1944. In 1890 he was married to Eliza Leighty, who preceded him in death in 1945. To this marriage three sons were born: Elmer of Excelsior, and George and Willard of St. Paul, Minnesota, who survive him. There are also four grandchildren: Mrs. Sheila Wilhelm of Vallejo, California; Mrs. Mary Alyce Vadnais of St. Paul; Donald and Ralph Livingston of Excelsior, and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Livingston died at Deaconess hospital in Minneapolis on Sunday, January 27, 1957 at the age of 88 years, 3 months, and 28 days. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday at Excelsior Congregational Church with Rev. Hoyle officiating. Duets were sung by Mrs. Margaret Roers and Adrian Seamans; Mrs. Warren Johnson, accompanist. Pallbearers were Clayton Holden, V.G. Campbell, Kenneth Koehnen, George Kroening, Joe Donlin, and Fred Anderson. Interment was at Chanhassen Township Cemetery."
