Muriel Buell
Funeral service for Muriel Buell,
62, of Chaska was held Saturday,
Sept. 22, 1990 at the Bertas Funeral
Home, Chaska. Father Martin Shall -
better officiated.
Mrs. Buell died Wednesday, Sept.
19 at Fairview Riverside Medical
Center, Minneapolis.
She was born June 23, 1928 in
Minneapolis to Oscar and Alva
(Fossum) Wahl, and was one of two
children.
She attended school at Minneapo-
lis's Nokomis Elementary and gradu-
ated from Washburn High School.
She attended St. Olaf College in
Northfield and earned her degree at
the University of Minnesota
On Aug. 12, 1956, she married
Morison Buell in Edina. The couple
had three children.
She was a past member of the Carver
County Mental Health Board, and a
member of the Third Order of St.
Francis. She enjoyed writing and
editing and had been a reporter for
the Maverick Newspaper in Excel-
sior. Muriel occasionally used the
pen name of Joan Fossum. She had
been active in the Hospice Program
in Carver County. She also enjoyed
fishing.
She was preceded in death by her
mother, Alva
She is survived by her husband,
Morison Buell; sons and daughter-
in-law, Mark of Madison, Wisc.. Paul
and Jean of Bloomington; daughter
Laurie of Shakopee; grandsons,
Matthew, Abraham, Elijah and Brian;
father, Oscar Wahl of Chaska and
sister, Dr. Shelley Nygaard of Ply-
mouth.
Casketbearers were Erik Nygaard,
Don Dalrymple, Bill and Bob Gin-
gerich, Paul and Mark Buell.
Burial was in Chanhassen Ceme-
tery, Chanhassen.
