2016-18CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA DATE: February 22, 2016 RESOLUTION NO: 2016-18 MOTION BY: Tiornhom SECONDED BY: McDonald A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A QUICK ATTACK MINI PUMPER THROUGH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL PURCHASE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Fire Department's emergency response apparatus are a vital component to their capabilities; and WHEREAS, a Quick Attack mire pumper will replace two rescue vehicles; and WHEREAS, duty crews are playing a larger role in Chanhassen and the Quick Attack apparatus provides flexibility for a three or four -person crew to respond to a multitude of problems; and WHEREAS, the Quick Attack mini pumper will serve as the primary vehicle for response to medicals out of Station 1 and replace Engine 11 as the primary vehicle used by duty crews; and WHEREAS, due to the expanded capabilities of the Quick Attack, a light rescue vehicle scheduled for replacement in 2019 will not be necessary; and WHEREAS, the purchase through Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. using the Houston - Galveston Area Council procurement program in the amount of $240,550.49 includes a prepayment incentive discount of $6,500, resulting in a total purchase price of $234,050.49. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chanhassen City Council approve the purchase of a Quick Attack mini pumper for the Chanhassen Fire Department from Custom Fire Apparatus, hic. through the Houston -Galveston Area Council procurement program by full pre- payment in the amount of $234,050.49. Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 22 a day of February, 2016.
