Edwin Bennett Harrison's obituary read:
Edwin Bennett Harrison died on August 31, 2011 at the age of 90. Ed was born
and raised in Excelsior, Minnesota, the son of Edwin Bennett, Sr. and Gladys
(McLeod) Harrison, brother to LaMoine Harrison Cochrane, grandson of James F.
and Nettie (Bennett) Harrison. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane (Meakins)
Harrison. Father to Cynthia, David, Scott (DeLana), Britton and Margaret (Chris
Patterson). He also leaves six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a graduate of Excelsior High School class of 1940; worked at Bacon Drug
before his military service; baptized, confirmed and member of Trinity Episcopal
Church. Ed was with the US Army Signal Corps during World War II, stationed in
the Aleutian Islands. He was a lifetime member of the Excelsior Masonic Lodge.
Burial will be in the Harrison family plot at Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery in
Chanhassen, Minnesota at 11:00 am, September 24, 2011. The family thanks the
veterans for providing military honors. Lifelong friend Bob Williams will share
remembrances of Ed with friends and family at grave side.
11/20/2017 - Received call from Jane Harrison requesting how many unoccupied
graves she still owned (19.2 and 19.3). Updated permanent address to Mesquite,
