CC SUM 2018 06 11 CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING SUMMARY MINUTES JUNE 11, 2018 Mayor Laufenburger called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Laufenburger, Councilwoman Tjornhom, Councilman McDonald, Councilwoman Ryan, and Councilman Campion STAFF PRESENT: Todd Gerhardt, Chelsea Petersen, Kate Aanenson, Paul Oehme, Todd Hoffman, MacKenzie Walters, Sue Bill, and Jodi Sarles PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mayor Laufenburger presented a Maple Leaf Award to Marilyn Luthy for 18 years of volunteer service in the Senior Center. (There was a short recess in the meeting to serve birthday cake in honor of Marilyn Luthy.) CONSENT AGENDA: Councilman McDonald moved, Campion seconded to approve the 1. Approval of City Council Minutes dated May 29, 2018 2. Receive Planning Commission Minutes dated May 15, 2018 3. Ordinance 632: Amendments to City Code, Chapters 1, 4, 10 and 20 4. Accept Mediated Settlement Agreement with Diverse Construction Services, LLC All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS. TOUR DE TONKA 2018: TIM LITFIN WITH MINNETONKA COMMUNITY EDUCATION. Tim Litfin with Minnetonka Community Education presented a power point presentation highlighting past Tour de Tonka events and outlining the events scheduled for 2018. PUBLIC HEARING: VENUE/ALDI PROPERTY: TERMINATION AND RELEASE OF EASEMENT RIGHTS. Paul Oehme presented the staff report on this item. Mayor Laufenburger opened the public hearing. No one spoke and the public hearing was closed. City Council Summary June 11, 2018 Resolution #2018-36: Councilman McDonald moved, Councilwoman Tjornhom seconded to approve the termination and release of all of its rights and interest in the 2004 easement easement being vacated. All voted in favor, except Councilwoman Ryan and Councilman Campion who opposed, and the motion carried with a vote of 3 to 2. COUNCIL PRESENTATIONS. Mayor Laufenburger noted that Councilman Campion spoke at the grand opening of the Fox Woods Preserve and discussed the Chanhassen Red Birds schedule of games. ADMINISTRATIVE PRESENTATIONS. Todd Gerhardt provided an update on the tour schedule for the west water treatment plant. Councilwoman Ryan moved, Councilman McDonald seconded to adjourn the meeting.
