ONE POSTAL ADDRESS
for the
City of Chanhassen
WHEREAS, the Citizens of the City of Chanhassen have an excellent

local Post Office, but because of routing decisions have a total of
four (4) different city addresses for mailing purposes;
AND, WHEREAS, Chanhassen residents and businesses must use a
different city address for their mailing addresses, numerous errors,
inconveniences, and general confusion exist for deliveries, customers,
visitors, etc.;
AND, WHEREAS, The City has set community goals and objectives to
promo~e community identification through total City interaction of the
City, Schools, Community Services, Chamber of Commerce, etc.; all of
which being in conflict with POlicies forcing citizens to use a
different mailing address;
AND, WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen is potentially losing
revenues from several State and Federal Grant-in-Aid Programs which

are based on statistics obtained from mailing address information;

NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Chanhassen respect-
fully requests the U.S. Postal Service to change the present address
pOlicies and allow for the use of one (1) postal address for our
citizens - Chanhassen, Minnesota.

WHEREAS, multiple mailing addresses are confusing to the residents of
and to make deliveries - all of which being detrimental to the business
