Ralph Herbert Livingston
Livingston, Ralph Herbert Age 92, Excelsior. Passed April 13, 2022. Preceded in death by
parents Elmer and Marguerite Livingston, brother Donald and sister Sheila. Survived by
wife Edith, daughter Rhonda Studer (Richard), grandchildren Ryan Studer and Renee
McClellan (Nicholas), and great-grandchildren Henry and Violet McClellan. A
descendant of Minnesota territorial pioneers, Ralph spent his childhood on the family
farm that is now part of the Univ. of MN Landscape Arboretum. He attended Chaska
schools and moved to northern MN in the 1940s. He graduated from Boy River High
School in 1947. He spent his entire career working at Bemis Packaging Services, starting
in the shop as a machinist and eventually becoming a mechanical engineer by learning
on the job. From 1951-1953 he served in the Army, was trained as a medic, and was
stationed at a MASH unit in Korea. Ralph met Edith in 1954; they were married in 1956.
Their 65-year marriage was a testament to love and commitment. Ralph loved nature,
gardening, growing orchids, hunting, fishing, camping, music and travel. He had a large
circle of friends and family that were the bright spots of his life. He was a good friend,
and a loving husband, father and grandfather who was adored by his family; he will be
greatly missed. Visitation Fri, April 22, 4-7 pm, Huber Funeral Home, Excelsior. Funeral
Sat, April 23 at Excelsior United Methodist Church. Visitation at 10 am, service at 11.

Obituary for Ralph Herbert Livingston
Age 92, Excelsior. Passed April 13, 2022. Preceded in death
by his parents, Elmer and Marguerite Livingston, brother
Donald and sister Sheila Wilhelm. Survived by wife Edith,
daughter Rhonda Studer (Richard), grandson Ryan Studer,
granddaughter Renee McClellan (Nicholas), and great-
grandchildren Henry and Violet McClellan.
A descendant of Minnesota Territorial Pioneers, Ralph spent
