Proclamation of "National Aquatic Week"
In order to promote swimming and other aquatics programs, delegates at
this year's National Aquatic Summit designated May 17th - May 24th as
"National Aquatic Week".
By allowing funding to provide lifeguards and swimming lessons at the
Lake Ann Swimming Beach, the City of Chanhassen has demonstrated its
dedication and believe that aquatic programs are important to the citizens
of Chanhassen.
Lake Ann Beach will open on June 6th this summer and will provide a
lifeguard staffed beach everyday through August 23rd. The beach will also
have American Red Cross swimming lessons starting June 22nd.
I am requesting that the City Council pass the attached proclamation
concerning National Aquatic Week.
