Projection for expected demand is 50% of all Kindergarten students will choose ADK. . A Half Day Kindergarten program will be maintained. . Kindergarten building capacity decreases each year as number of rooms needed for All Day Kindergarten increases. . Elementary building capacity is based on Board set class size guidelines multiplied by number of grade level classrooms. Current class size guidelines are: Grade 1: 22.5 Grade 2: 22.5 Grade 3: 24 Grade 4 26 Grade 5 26 . Secondary building capacity is based on core space and square footage per student. . Construction costs are based on total project dollar per square foot. We have used baseline data from project construction costs for Victoria Elementary and the addition to Chaska High School. Both of these projects were bid in 2004. Cost escalation of 10% was used for construction cost increase in 2004, and 5% for every year thereafter. . Level of quality equal to Victoria Elementary is used for new elementary buildings, Pioneer Ridge for a new middle school, and Chaska High School for a new high school or addition. . Construction costs do not include cost of land. It is assumed a middle school or high school would be built on property already owned by the District. Elementary school sites would be donated to the District in cooperation with cities and/or developers. . 300 parking stalls would be added to Chaska High School under the plan to add an addition to Chaska High School. Current number of parking stalls is 1,030. . 1,500 parking stalls are included in the project cost for a new high school. . Project costs associated with a new high school include a stadium and auditorium similar to Chaska High School. . Project costs for an 8 lane pool are included in the new high school or the new middle school. . Costs for projects associated with a 2006 referendum are based on starting design work in April of 2006 and bidding in 2007.
