97-60 A CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA DATE: August 11, 1997 MOTION BY: Senn RESOLUTION NO: SECONDED BY: 97-60A Berquist A RESOLUTION DECLARING REPAIRS TO THE WEST 76TH STREET WATER TOWER AS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHEREAS, it has recently been discovered that the city water supply tower on West 76th Street has developed a leak on the inside where the pipe enters the bowl; and WHEREAS, as a result, the tower has had to be completely drained to avoid further risk and/or damage to the tower or controls; and WHEREAS, the City's water storage capacity is critical particularly during the summer months when additional demands are put on the water system due to lawn sprinkling, car washing, etc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chanhassen City Council hereby declares the current problem with the West 76th Street Water Tower to be critical in nature and an emergency situation for which expedient action must be taken to make the contracted repairs.
