ADOPT A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO PEFORM A SPEED STUD Y TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT
ALONG TRUNK HIGHWAY 101 SOUTH OF TRUNK HIGHWAY $ TO W. 86TH STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen has received complaints of sight line problems along
a portion of Trunk Highway 101 (Great Plains Boulevard/Market Boulevard) south of Trunk
Highway 5 to West 86th Street due to increased development, traffic accidents, hilly and
curvilinear streets, and blind driveway approaches.
WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen requests the Minnesota Department of
Transportation to perform a speed study to reduce the speed limit along said portion of Trunk
Highway 101 from 40 m.p.h, to 35 m.p.h.
Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 27th day of October 1997.
