A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 14, 1996
AS MINNESOTA AND CHANHASSEN MANUFACTURER'S WEEK
WHEREAS, manufacturing has the largest total payroll of any business sector in
Minnesota, providing $14.3 billion in 1994 wages; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing produces $22.9 billion for the state economy and is the largest
single share (21%) of our gross product; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing provides high skill, high wage jobs which significantly
contribute to Minnesota's high standard of living and economic vitality; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing contributed nearly $145 million in corporate income taxes in
Minnesota, more than any other business sector, and almost 30 percent of total corporate income
taxes.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. CI-IMIEL, mayor of Chanhassen, Minnesota; do
hereby proclaim the week of October 14-18, 1996 to be
MINNESOTA AND CHANHASSEN MANUFACTURER'S WEEK
in Minnesota.
Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 14th day of October, 1996.
