MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: DATE: March 20, 2006 16 - SUBJ: Award of Bids for 2006 Sea1coat Project No. 06-02 Staff requests the City Council approve a construction contract in the amount of $247,757.50 to Allied Blacktop for work to be performed on the above-referenced project. On January 9,2006, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the 2006 Sea1coat Project. The 2006 Sea1coat Project consists of chip sealing various streets throughout the City as shown on the attached location maps. Also included will be pavement marking restoration upon completion of the sea1coat process. The affected streets will tentatively be sealed during the month of July with a completion date deadline of August 18, 2006. Bids for the project were opened on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 11:00. Three total bids were submitted. The bids are shown below along with the engineer's estimate. $280,835.00 $247,757.50 $256,164.00 $317,471.00 Allied Blacktop has completed previoussea1coatingprojects in the city of Chanhassen. Their past workhasbeenacceptable. This project was budgeted for 2006 in the CIP Pavement Management - STOI8.
