The Honorable Nancy Mancino
Mayor of Chanhassen
City Offices

Chanhassen, MN 55317
Dear Mayor Mancino:
Girl Scout Week is scheduled for March 9-15, 1997 which commemorates
the founding of Girl Scouts on March 12, 1912. As one of Minnesota's and
the nation's largest non-profit organization for girls in the world.
Our Troop is asking you to proclaim the week in our behalf. Your personal
proclamation will be encouraging to the Girl Scouts in the Chanhassen
community.
Girls Scouts of the U.S.A., over 3-million members strong, will celebrate 85
years of helping girls grow into confident and resourceful adults. The
Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council (GMGSC) has demonstrated it is a
dynamic organization, able to keep up with the everchanging world
around and reaches out to girls of diverse cultural heritage. Now more
than ever, the GMGSC recognizes the constant need for providing an
environment where girls can enjoy nature, learn to work together, gain
leadership skills. Helps the girls gain the self-esteem to make the right
choices in their personal lives and in their careers.
Your interest and support makes a significant impact on the success of the
girls. And, as you know, our success is measured through the lives of the
girls becoming ~utstanding citizens of our community.
Respectfully yours,
