94-121 A CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA DATE: November 28, 1994 RESOLUTION NO: 94-12 iA MOTION BY: Mason SECONDED BY: Dockendorf A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WEST 78TH STREET FROM POWERS BOULEVARD (CSAH 17) TO KERBER BOULEVARD AS AN URBAN DISTRICT WITH A MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITATION OF 30 M.P.H. PROJECT NO. 92-3 WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen has recently upgraded West 78th Street between Powers Boulevard (CSAH 17) and Kerber Boulevard from a rural roadway section to an urban roadway section; and WHEREAS, MSA 169.14, Subd., 5b allows the local governing body to declare by resolution a qualifying segment of road to be an urban district; and WHEREAS, this segment of West 78th Street complies with the definition of MSA 169.01, Subd. 59 as an "urban district"; and WHEREAS, MSA 169.14, Subd. 2(1) allows for the establishment of a maximum speed limit of 30 m.p.h, in an urban district. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the segment of West 78th Street between Powers Boulevard (CSAH 17) and Kerber Boulevard is hereby designated as an urban district; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the maximum speed limit for said segment of West 78th Street be established at 30 m.p.h.
