The 2006 Park and TraIl Acquisition and Development Capital Improvement Program features a project titled "ball field improvements." Working with our local athletic associations, staff has identified a number of Improvements, primarily to improve safety at various ball field locations. This project deals directly with the improvement of ball field fencing at Lake Ann Park. Three fields (Nos. 1,2 & 3) will be improved. Field No.1 will receive a new backstop and dug outs, field No.2 will receive new dug outs, and field No.3 will receive a new back stop and new dug outs. The fenced dug outs come complete with 12" x 60" concrete footings, truss and canopy roof systems, bat racks and gates. The back stops feature 18" x 60" concrete footings and overhead hoods. The backstops being replaced have been in use since the park opened over 35 years ago. The fenced dug outs will be a new improvement to the park. Price quotes were solicited from three firms. Two companies submitted quotes with Century Fence Company submitting the low quote of $46,053. RECOMMENDA TION It IS recommended that the City Council approve the price quote of $46,053 from Century Fence Company to complete the Lake Ann Park Fencing Project as indicated on the plans and related specifications prepared by Brauer and Associates.
