The Trust Board granted two pledges of $500.00 each to be mailed after the Trust Board's February and May meetings of 2007. Section 2-2 of the City Code states "Gifts to the city with a monetary value offive hundred dollars ($500.00) or greater may only be accepted with the approval of the City Council." Staff is recommending the City Council accept this gracious gift to be used toward the construction of the veterans monument. RECOMMENDA TION The City Council accepts the donation of Minnesota Valley Electric Trust in the amount of $1,000.00 to be used toward the construction of a Veterans Monument.
