92-03 City of Chanhassen Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota DATE: January 13, 1992 RESOLUTION NO: 92-03 MOTION BY: Dimler SECONDED BY: Mason A RESOLUTION REQUESTING MNDOT TO AMEND THEIR 1992-1997 FISCAL YEAR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO INCLUDE THE PORTION OF-TRUNK HIGHWAY 212 BETWEEN LYMAN BOULEVARD IN CHANHASSEN AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 41 IN CHASKA WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen, Minnesota, an active member of the Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition, supports development of the area's transportation system; and WHEREAS, the Coalition has worked closely with local governments, MnDOT and businesses to fund highway studies and expedite construction projects; and WHEREAS, the continued programming of the area's highway projects, including Trunk Highway 5 and Trunk Highway 212, is needed to sustain the safe and modern transportation system that links the metropolitan area with southwestern Minnesota facilities and facilitates movement of farm-to-market traffic through the area; and WHEREAS, Congress has recently passed the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act of 1991 which has authorized $8.7 million for the development of new Trunk Highway 212 from Eden Prairie to Cologne. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Chanhassen, Minnesota firmly supports the amendment of MnDOT's recently adopted 1992 through 1997 fiscal 'year highway improvement program to include the portion of Trunk Highway 212 between Lyman Boulevard in Chanhassen and Trunk Highway 41 in Chaska.
